At the Battle of Franklin Trust’s History Summer Camp, children will learn about soldier and civilian life through demonstrations, contests, trips and prizes. The June camp focuses on life in the 1800s, teaching children about the Underground Railroad, Carter House and Carnton, as well as gardening and other skills. The July camp focuses on life during the Civil War. Children will learn how to march and drill, make their own regimental flag and experience what it would be like to treat soldiers in a field hospital. History Summer Camp is for children ages 8-12. The cost of camp is $160 and runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
