Ken Ludwig’s A Fox on the Fairway at Pull-Tight Players Theatre
Pull-Tight Players in downtown Franklin is excited to present the hilarious play, Ken Ludwig’s A Fox on the Fairway. It is a tribute to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s. This production takes audiences on a fun romp that pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy members of two competitive private country clubs.
Ken Ludwig’s A Fox on the Fairway premiered on October 19, 2010 at Signature Theatre in Arlington, Virginia, and has been delighting audiences ever since.
Our story begins with Henry Bingham at risk of losing his job as the Executive Director of Quail Valley Golf and Country Club should his team lose the annual golf tournament to their longtime rival, Crouching Squirrel Country Club. He soon realizes how great of a risk he’s truly in when his arch nemesis, Dickie Bell, informs him that Quail Valley’s strongest player has changed sides by recently joining Crouching Squirrel Country Club; putting Quail Valley at a disadvantage for the tournament. In turn, Henry’s confidence gets the best of him and he makes a bet with Dickie that adds to the level of risk with financial loss, property loss, and a really angry wife. Henry finds an unexpected replacement who has a chance of winning the tournament and saving his job! With mixed up romances, technical mishaps, and high stakes on the tournament outcome, this show is sure to entertain!
Director JK Gregg says the performance is another Ken Ludwig madcap comedy that will keep audiences in stitches. The set is gorgeous and will remind you of the finest of any country club tap room, and the costumes range from hilarious to breathtaking. The cast includes newcomers Frankie Piccione and Laura Abbott, as well as Pull-Tight veterans Jon Kieffner, Philip Johnson, Sarah Kieffner, Daryle Tallent, and Kai Vilhelmsen.
