Introducing Culamar: Frank Pullara Renames Italian Seafood Concept
Chef Frank Pullara has officially renamed his Italian seafood concept to “Culamar” marrying his two iconic Franklin restaurants
As of April 24th, Franklin-based restaurant Bestia Mare will officially be renamed to Culamar. Continuing to bring the feelings, flavors, and freshness of coastal Italy to historic Downtown Franklin, Culamar is the latest culinary venture from executive chef and owner Frank Pullara. Following the success of neighboring hotspot Culaccino, Culamar focuses on sustainably sourced seafood and modern selections from both land and ocean. Its menu dives into authentic seaside Italian fare, capturing the essence of being ‘al mare’ without leaving Tennessee. Born out of a trademark issue, Culamar allows Pullara to converge Culaccino and Mare, formerly known as Bestia Mare, creating a new word that reflects his story.
“This began as a trademark concern, but it has turned into a fortuitous opportunity for us to align our restaurant names and branding,” Chef and Owner Frank Pullara said. “We are thrilled to reintroduce the same exceptional dining experience and menu under our new name.”
Drawing its inspiration from the effortless elegance of Italian seaside towns, Culamar’s design exudes a casual luxury that’s both polished and contemporary. Set in tones of cream and wood, the 2,900 square-foot indoor/outdoor space boasts cathedral-like arches throughout, modern light fixtures, rustic exposed beams, and floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing natural light to illuminate the space. Despite the name change, guests can expect the same exceptional experience that quickly made the restaurant a favorite dining destination for both casual lunches and fine dining, rendering it a ersatile spot for any time of day.
