Leiper’s Creek Gallery Presents “Soulful Juxtaposition – A Visual Dance Linking Abstraction and Impressionism”

The Works of Roger Dale Brown and Lisa Fox

LEIPER’S FORK, Tenn. – Master Artist Roger Dale Brown, renowned impressionist painter, will join Abstract Artist and Leiper’s Creek Gallery Owner Lisa Fox in “Soulful Juxtaposition – A Visual Dance Linking Abstraction and Impressionism.” The celebration of art will take place from 6-9 p.m., CST, Oct. 21, 2023, at Leiper’s Creek Gallery in Leiper’s Fork, Tenn.

“The idea for the show came about because mine and Roger’s work is often purchased together,” Fox said. “The two styles are so very different, but at the same time, they are both inspired by nature and wonderfully harmonious”.

Roger Dale Brown has developed a style which draws deeply from the Impressionist view that painting from life is essential. This determination and dedication have culminated in his receiving Master Status with Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, and American Society of Marine Artist. When not traveling to paint or teach, he lives with his artist wife and two dogs in Franklin, Tennessee, and teaches in his home studio.

“Capturing the essence of a scene is my goal.  I want the viewer to feel they can step in and walk around experiencing its mood and beauty,” Brown said.

Lisa Fox is an American artist known for her enthralling abstracts and early works as a Plein Air painter. Regarding her evolution as a painter, Lisa admits to a five-year hiatus. When she began painting again in 2016, she experienced an epiphany of sorts, explaining, “I gave in to my calling of painting abstract and found my voice and spiritual purpose.” Fox opened Leiper’s Creek Gallery, one of Tennessee’s most meaningful and inspiring galleries, more than 20 years ago, in the unlikely village of Leiper’s Fork.

As with all events at Leiper’s Creek Gallery, “Soulful Juxtaposition…” will feature music, food and drink and is free and open to the public.
