MATTHEW WALKER COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CENTER HOSTS #TOMEN #FORMEN #BYMEN: A CONVERSATION ON AFRICAN AMERICAN MEN’S HEALTH

#ToMen #ForMen #ByMen to take place June 30 at the National Museum of African American Music

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 27, 2023) – Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center (MWCHC), Nashville’s oldest non-profit health center, will host #ToMen #ForMen #ByMen: A Conversation on African American Men’s Health on Friday, June 30 at 6:00 PM at the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM). The event is free and open to the public (registration here).

#ToMen #ForMen #ByMen provides a space for men to have candid conversations and network with other men and businesses aimed at improving their health and wellness. The event features a pre-recorded conversation where distinguished individuals in the community gather at a local barber shop to speak honestly on men’s health hot topics such as mental health, physical health and more.

These men are unscripted, unguarded and in the chair – get ready for a barbershop conversation you won’t want to miss. Following the viewing, there will be a panel discussion, Q&A and networking time with panelists and vendors.

Featured video participants include Dr. Omaran Lee (Chaplain, Nashville General Hospital), Dr. Keith Junior (Physician, MWCHC), RONNiE (musician), and Mr. David Suddeth (Site Director, Metro Parks and Tennessee Sports Hall of Famer). The video conversation is facilitated by Mr. Robert Taylor, President of the New Life Center, instructor at Meharry Medical College, and program coordinator in the Meharry School of Graduate Studies.

Featured panelists include Mr. Jerry Davis (Director, Ralph H. Boston Tennessee State University Wellness Center), Dr. Kevin Dennis (Physician, MWCHC), Dr. Omaran Lee, RONNiE, and Mr. David Suddeth. The panel is moderated by Joe Majors of 101.1 The Beat.

This event is brought to you by Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center in collaboration with the National Museum of African American Music and the Tennessee Department of Health, Division of Health Disparities Elimination.
