Community Grove Planting to Be Held in East Nashville

Community Grove Planting to Be Held in East Nashville

The Church at Lockeland Springs, 1601 Holly Street

Brentwood, TN – November 19, 2020

The Church at Lockeland Springs (a regional campus of Brentwood Baptist Church) will plant a Community Grove in East Nashville on Saturday, November 21, at 10:00 a.m. Due to this year’s tornado, many trees around the church’s campus were damaged or removed. The Community Grove will replace the lost trees and exist to be a place of rest and solace for the surrounding community.

Pastor David Hannah mentioned, “We are blessed to be a part of an incredible, dynamic, and loving neighborhood. In the past eight months, East Nashville has been deeply affected by a tornado, increasing civil tensions, a contentious election cycle, and a global pandemic. As a response to a year that seems determined to divide us, along with a desire to reflect God’s love and serve our community, we will plant over a dozen trees on our property. This will provide a welcoming space to relax, reflect, meditate, and pray.”

The Community Grove will represent The Church at Lockeland Springs’ first step in creating a green space that can be used by everyone in the neighborhood. It will be a place for hope to be restored and dreams to be born—standing as a faithful reminder of the beauty of creation and the history of a community that will last for generations to come.

About Brentwood Baptist Church
Brentwood Baptist is a community of believers in Brentwood, Tennessee, who engage the whole person with the whole gospel of Jesus Christ anywhere, anytime, with anybody.

A decade ago, church leadership recognized the value of regional campuses in multiple communities throughout the greater Nashville area. As of 2019, there are eight locations that comprise one church. Every campus shares the same DNA through a common mission, vision, and message. However, each campus has the flexibility to contextualize ministry to its unique community under the leadership of its own campus pastor.
