Working for Franklin Is.com

My internship with FranklinIs.com has already given me many diverse and interesting experiences. Internships are designed so that you can “test the waters” and figure out what aspects of a particular business you enjoy. Luckily, so far I have enjoyed every aspect that my internship has had to offer.

I think this is partly to do with the fact that I am 22, technically unemployed, have a psychology degree from The University of the South, and am willing to take what I can get. I also think it is because the majority of the “work” assignments I have are not work to me and are things that like doing anyway.

I have taken pictures around downtown Franklin and at several local events that I then reformatted and posted on Franklin Is. I had lunch and took pictures at the new restaurant Cafy’s Roast House Café, and wrote a story about it for Franklin Is. I have also had a chance to brainstorm and help develop the Franklin Is parenting section that is going to be launched soon.

Overall, my internship with Franklin Is has given me a lot of opportunities to learn. It has also allowed me to be creative and give my opinion on new ideas or how things should look. I am excited to start the week and see what interesting and new assignments I will have.
