Williamson County recently hosted a Regional Three Star meeting for the mid-state area of elected officials, economic development leaders and chambers of commerce leaders.  Information was received and reviewed regarding 2007 requirements for continuation of Three Star accreditation, through the State Department of Economic & Community Development.  Williamson County was awarded Three Star status in 2005, demonstrating a cooperative county-wide partnership of all governmental entities in achieving this status.  Being a Three Star county allows governments to save local tax dollars typically required as match money for various grants.
