Franklin Recreation Complex

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s Franklin Complex is decking the halls with crafts and cookie classes! Join us for some holiday cheer!

 

First, instructor Gail Chaffin guides teen and adult participants through the “Christmas Stocking” class as they learn the techniques of beginner sewing. Choose from convenient morning or evening times on Monday, December 3^rd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. or Thursday, December 6^th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Using your own basic sewing supplies (scissors and thread) a sewing machine, fabric scraps and a ¾ yard of contrasting holiday fabric, participants will piece together and sew a stunning Christmas stocking for the mantle! Cost is $20.00 for each class. Contact the instructor for more information by calling 790-9307. Three sewing machines are available for reservation at the Recreation Complex by calling 790-5719, ext. 20.

 

Next, the “Stampin’ Sisters” of News Channel 5’s Talk of the Town fame will conduct a Christmas card stamping class on Tuesday, December 4^th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Using holiday stamps and inks, decorative scrapbooking papers and fancy embellishments, participants will make 15 Christmas cards using 3 unique style templates. Whether you’re a novice or an experienced stamper, you’ll benefit from getting a jump-start on your holiday season! Cost is $15.00 per person with a $5.00 supply fee. Registration required by Friday, November 28^th.

 

In addition, staff crafter Cindy Moore conducts Christmas ceramics classes for kids ages 3 to 10. Choose from three convenient class times: 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. (Homeschoolers); 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Let’s paint beautiful holiday decorations to keep or give away! Cost is $5.00 per child.

 

Finally, Cindy Moore offers moms and kids ages 3 to 6 a “Mom & Me Christmas Cookie” class on Wednesday, December 12^th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Moms can enjoy quality creative time with your children and leave the mess to us! Cost is $3.00 per child.
