Children’s Theatre Group Holds Auditions for

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s award winning children’s theatre group, the Star Bright Players, announces open auditions for kids ages 8-15 for the lively, musical favorite, “The Music Man” to be presented April 17th through 20th. The auditions will take place on Sunday, February 17th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Franklin Recreation Complex located at 1120 Hillsboro Road.  Child actors new to the Star Bright Program, who have never acted in a Star Bright Production, will audition first from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Returning thespians, those who have acted in Star Bright Player production previously, will then audition from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Star Bright director is seeking young actors who are talented in singing, vocalizing and expressing their lines.
Children may arrive at any time during their audition category but may be required to wait. Parents may accompany their children in the waiting area but will not be permitted to observe the audition process. Singing is required during the audition by performing any song with or without accompaniment; (you may bring a cassette tape, CD or sheet music for the pianist if you choose) even “Happy Birthday” is acceptable.
 
Selected actors may be asked to attend a second or “Call back” audition, held the following day, Monday, February 18th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Freedom Middle School (located at 750 Highway 96 West). Chosen actors will be required to participate in an 8-week rehearsal schedule and pay a $50.00 activity fee for costume rental, etc. Please bring a list of possible rehearsal schedule conflicts with you to the auditions.
