Arts & Crafts Classes
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of arts and crafts activities for teens and adults at the Franklin Recreation Complex,, located at 1120 Hillsboro Road. Registration is required for all classes. For more information and to register, call 790-5719, ext. 10.
Patriotic Night Lantern – Kids Arts & Crafts
Brighten up your party or room with a 4th of July light! Children ages 5-12 will enjoy creating this “Patriotic Night Lantern” to help celebrate the holiday on Thursday, July 3rd from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The cost is $5.00 with all supplies provided.
Scrapbooking for Kids – My Pet or My Friends
You’ll be amazed how fun and educational creating a scrapbook can be! Students ages 10 – 17 will bring 4 to 6 photos of their pets or friends and learn how to use their photos, paper, scissors, punches, stamps and dye cuts to make an album out of lunch bags. Classes are held Tuesday, July 8th, Wednesday, July 9th and Friday, July 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The cost for the 3-day session is $35.00 with a $15.00 supply fee.
Kids Ceramics – Yard Animals
Sign the kids up for a fun time to paint summer critters! On Friday, July 11th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. or from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., children ages 3 – 10 are invited to create their very own critter. A variety of pieces will be available to choose from such as: frogs, turtles, raccoons, lady bugs, foxes and beavers. All supplies will be provided. The cost for either session is $5.00 per child. Be sure to have your kids wear old clothes, it could get messy!
Scrapbooking for Adults– Flip-Flop Album
Are you into scrapbooking or have you ever wanted to give it a try? Then check out this class! Adults can join Instructor, Julie Salva on Monday, July 28th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. to create a fun, summer-themed brag book perfect for all of your summer memories or as a fabulous gift. The cost to participate in this class is $20.00 plus a $5.00 supply fee for cardstock, embellishments, ribbon and other goodies! Please bring scissors and adhesive. Registration is required by July 25, 2008.
