YogaKids

YogaKids is a unique approach to integrative learning using kid-friendly yoga poses. Reading, storytelling, music, creative arts and earth-care blend seamlessly with yoga movement. Children learn new skills and grow strong physically, mentally and emotionally, cultivating self-esteem for a lifetime of successful achievement. Children today are under a tremendous amount of stress from school, their environment, peer competition and expectations from the media. Stress effects children’s health, well-being and confidence. YogaKids creates a multi-sensory, non-competitive, and FUN learning experience while helping de-stress and relax.

YogaKids offers classes for infants and crawlers, ages 3 to 5 and ages 6 to 10, at the Franklin Recreation Complex and the Indoor Sports Complex. For additional information, visit www.yogakidsnashville.com.

Kids Ballroom Dance
You are never too young to begin learning the fundamentals of ballroom dance. Kids are getting in on the act with a new class for ages 3 to 12. Dancing can improve coordination and sports skills, plus it is a fun form of exercise and can be beneficial in both personal and professional settings throughout a lifetime.

Each six-week session will concentrate on at least one smooth dance, such as the waltz, foxtrot of tango and one rhythm dance like the swing or hustle. Ballroom dancing will be held on Thursdays, October 30th  through December 4th.  Children ages 3 to 6 will meet from 5:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  and children 7 to 12 will meet from 6:00p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Course fee: $40. Classes meet at the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Blvd West. Call 799-9331 to register.
