Attention wine lovers! Taste the fruits of six middle Tennessee wineries at the first annual Red, White and Blue Ribbon Fair Wine Festival, August 1st and 2nd at the 2008 Williamson County Fair presented by Tractor Supply Company. During this new event, festival goers can sample the products of Arrington Vineyards, Beans Creek Winery, Grinders Switch Winery, Keg Springs Winery, Monteagle Winery and Chateau Ross Vineyard and Winery.     

The Wine Festival is presented by Bone McAllester Norton, PLLC. Festival hours will be Friday, August 1st from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and Saturday, August 2nd, from 9:00am to 9:00pm in the air-conditioned, main arena of the fair. Learn about the process of making wine and the history of grape growing in the Tennessee region. Discover the diversity of area wines and experience the rich aromas and flavors as you sample our local fare.    

Tickets to the Wine Festival are $15 and include admission to the fair and free parking. The wine festival is restricted to persons 21 and over, and a photo ID will be required for ticket purchases and entrance to the event.  The wineries will offer their products for sale. Upon payment, festival goers will receive a voucher to pick up their products as they exit the fair premises.   

An amateur wine contest is being held as part of the festival. Judging will take place at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 2nd. Amateur wine makers are invited to compete in 11 wine classes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medallions. The 2008 fair offers convenient, free on-site parking and shuttle buses to the main gate provided by Nissan North America.  Regular general admission to the fair is $5 in advance, $6 at the gate. Children ages 6 – 12 are $2 in advance, $3 at the gate. Children ages 5 and under are free. Advance tickets are on sale at ten Middle Tennessee Tractor Supply Company locations and twenty area Daily’s convenience stores through the end of the fair. Nine-day general admission passes are available (at the gate only) for $30 for adults and $15 for children ages 6-12.
