Jockey Club Party
For steeplechasers, the night before the Iroquois is sure to be filled with excitement for the 71st running and all the race day festivities that will take place. And on Friday, May 11, guests who attend the Jockey Club Party will officially kick off Iroquois festivities at the grounds of Percy Warner Park.
The second-annual party, co-hosted by Leah London and Karen Malone, takes place under the Iroquois Society tent from 7 to 11 p.m. and will be a celebration filled with fun for all.
“What could be better than kicking off the biggest spring social event with an evening at the racetrack with some of the Iroquois’ biggest supporters?” said Dwight Hall, chairman for the Iroquois Steeplechase. “Last year set the bar high for the Jockey Club Party, and this year we have an even better party planned. ”
Guests will enjoy a catered dinner by Kristen Winston Catering and complimentary beverages provided by Iroquois partner Lipman Brothers Inc.
After dinner, the party leads into a live performance by hit musical talents Brett James, who has written and produced hits for singers such as Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and Jessica Simpson, and Jonathan Singleton, who co-wrote award-winning songs for country talents Gary Allan, Billy Currington and Josh Turner.
Jockey Club partygoers will also have a chance to gather trackside near the finish line on race day by bidding on jockeys during the jockey auction, one of the liveliest events of the night. Those who bid on winning jockeys will have their photographs taken with the jockey in the Winner’s Circle after each of the day’s three stake races.
Guests can also take home a piece of Iroquois history during the silent art auction. Local Leiper’s Fork artist and 2012 Iroquois Featured Artist Rachael McCampbell will auction off “Flight,” the official painting of the 71st running.
“We look forward to ushering in the 71st running with a night of fun and celebration with good friends,” said Hall.
Tickets for the Jockey Club Party are $125 per person and are available to purchase online at www.iroquoissteeplechase.org or 1-800-619-4802.
