Holiday Arts and Crafts in Spring Hill

 

In this class participants will use metal cookie cutter shapes to build a wire base, the base is then wrapped with colored wire and colored beads are added for embellishment. The wired ornaments class will meet on Sunday, December 7^th from 2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. and is for kids ages 8 and up. The fee is $5. To register, call (615)302-0971, ext. 10.

 

Students in this class will make a snowman to hang in their window or door. Using Sculpt-A-Mold compound, participants will create their own design adding button eyes and mouth, a carrot nose, top hat and scarf. Sculpt-a-snowman will meet on Sunday, December 7^th from 4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. and is for ages 5 and up. Children ages 3 and up are invited to make their own wrapping paper! Using holiday and winter themed stamps, acrylic paints, markers and crayons participants will transform plain white paper into beautiful gift wrap. This class will meet on Wednesday, December 10^th from 10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m. OR 5:00 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. The class fee is $3. Children ages 3-10 will choose from one of the snowflake themed ceramic pieces and paint it with the colors of the season. Under the guidance of our ceramics instructor participants will create a finished piece to decorate their home or give as a gift. The class will be held on Friday, December 12^th from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. OR Saturday December 13^th from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The fee is $5 and the instructor is Julie Westall. Attend this FREE class and learn how to best display your holiday decorations! Instructor Pat Alderson will walk you through current decorating style and tips for dressing up your home for the holidays. This class for adults will be Wednesday, December 3^rd OR Wednesday, December 10^th from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. To register, call the Longview Recreation Center, (615)302-0971, ext. 10.

 

In this class, adults will observe the minute detail of a live Poinsettia plant and learn how to transfer that detail to paper using drawing and watercolor techniques. Your finished piece of art will make a wonderful holiday gift or a beautiful decoration for your home. This 2-week class will meet on Thursdays, December 4^th and 11^th from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.  This 2-week course is $30. For more information call instructor Mary Gwyn Bowen at (615) 591-8566. Decorate a special holiday cake to give as a special gift or use for holiday entertaining! Participants will be guided through basic cake-decorating techniques that can be used in any baking project. This class is for teens and adults. Cake decorating will be held on Monday, December 8^th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The class fee is $35.00 which includes the cake, a cake board and a take home box. This month’s say it with stamps class will focus on holiday gift tags, gift cards and gift bags and can be personalized for any occasion. Class members will leave each class with at least 8 finished cards/items. No experience necessary!
