Franklin, TN – Concerts and Movies in the Park

Franklin, Tennessee  – Come enjoy family fun and FREE entertainment with Franklin City Parks’ Concerts in the Park and Movies in the Park series this summer.

In its fourth year, Concerts in the Park continues to bring the community together in a family friendly, safe environment one night a month from May to August.

“We encourage families to come out, picnic in the park, listen to the live music and just enjoy the ultimate park picnic experience,” says Anna Shuford, program coordinator.

The concerts will kick off Saturday, May 19, with the Williamson County Community Band, a band comprised of 50 volunteers who offer an instrumental sound that is popular with the families. On Sunday, June 17, the Nashville Jazz Orchestra featuring Annie Sellick, will play from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Pinkerton Park. The Williamson County Community Band plays again on Saturday, July 14. Concerts begin at 6 p.m., end at 8 p.m. and are held in Aspen Grove Park, located off Cool Springs Boulevard – with the exception of the *Sunday, June 17 performance. It will go from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will be held in Pinkerton Park, located on Murfreesboro Road.

Due to its growing popularity, there will be four Movies in the Park  this year – The Wizard of Oz on July 5, Happy Feet on July 19, Field of Dreams on Aug. 3, and ET on Aug. 9. These G-rated movies will be shown at 8 p.m. in Pinkerton Park. Don’t miss your chance to watch movies outdoors on a state-of-the art 26’ by 36’ inflatable screen with surround sound!
