Oaklands Mansion Presents: Victorian Tea Times and Etiquette
What makes afternoon tea shine? Find out on Thursday, August 3rd at 6:30 PM. Oaklands Mansion is unveiling a new donation. Dr. Henry King Butler has given Oaklands a silver tea set dated 1854. You are invited to join us in Maney Hall to explore Victorian tea customs.
Deborah Belcher, Oaklands Association, Inc. Board of Trustees President and Middle Tennessee State University Professor of Interior Design, will discuss how the height of the table or the time of day defines tea time.
“What is the difference in afternoon tea and high tea?” questions James Manning, Executive Director of Oaklands Mansion. “You know you have always wanted to know, now’s your chance to find out.”
This event is open to the public. Tickets are $30.00 which includes refreshments.
