Community Band

The award-winning Williamson County Community Band is preparing for the 2014 concert season and you are invited to join in the fun! If you play or formerly played any musical instrument, the community band is a great way to express your talent. Sponsored by the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department, the community band has performed at the historic Franklin Theatre, the Franklin Main Street Festival, Schermerhorn Symphony Center, local Memorial Day tributes and numerous other free local concerts since 2001.

Ten concerts are already planned, starting with a kick-off concert on May 4 at the Brentwood Library. Band rehearsals are held in the band room of Franklin High School, 810 Hillsboro Rd., on Thursday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. You may join at any time.

For more information, contact band director Ken Krause at (615) 370-3462 or Janey Mason at the Franklin Recreation Complex, (615) 790-5719, ext. 2030. Williamson County Parks and Recreation is a public organization, here to benefit the community. Anyone may register for and participate in the department’s programs, teams, classes and events.
