Better Business Bureau of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky Joins National Consumer Protection Week to Empower and Educate Consumers
Franklin, TN – The Better Business Bureau of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky is proud to participate in National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW), March 2-8, an annual initiative dedicated to helping consumers understand their rights and make informed decisions in the marketplace.
Led by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and supported by various consumer protection agencies and advocacy groups, NCPW provides valuable resources to help individuals recognize scams, avoid fraud, and safely navigate financial transactions.
“Consumer education is essential in today’s digital world,” said Robyn Householder, CEO/President of the Better Business Bureau of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. “During National Consumer Protection Week, we want to equip individuals and businesses with the knowledge they need to protect themselves from deceptive practices and financial fraud.”
Throughout the week, the FTC will host a series of educational workshops, webinars, and community outreach events to raise awareness about common scams, identity theft, and financial literacy. Consumers will have access to expert advice, fraud prevention tips, and information on how to report suspicious activities.
Key topics covered during NCPW include:
- Recognizing and avoiding phishing scams and fraudulent emails
- Protecting personal and financial information online
- Understanding credit reports and financial literacy
