American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Courses

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s Aquatics Division is set to begin the annual lifeguard certification training courses at the Indoor Sports Complex in Brentwood. Swimmers age 15 and older are invited to choose class sessions where, upon passing the pre-course swim test, they will be educated in the skills necessary to become a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard within the new 2007 guidelines.  Three certificates will be issued to each graduate: Lifeguard Training (good for 3 years) which includes first aid, CPR (good for 1 year) and Adult/Child AED Essentials (good for 1 year). 

 

Session 1: “First Class”

Date: Saturday, Feb. 24 to Wednesday, March 14. 

Classes held on Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays     

Time: Mondays and Wednesdays 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cost: $100 (due the first day of class) includes manual, pocket mask and other fees

Registration Begins: Saturday, Feb. 3 at 12 Noon

Registration Requirements: You must register in person at the Brentwood Complex.  Names are taken for the first 25 participants only!  No telephone registration accepted.

 

Session 2: “Spring Break Special”

Date: Saturday, March 17 to Saturday, March 24.

Classes held every day from Saturday to Saturday (no class Sunday 3/18)

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Cost: $100 (due the first day of class) includes manual, pocket mask and other fees

Registration Begins: Saturday, March 3 at 12 Noon

Registration Requirements: You must register in person at the Brentwood Complex.  Names are taken for the first 25 participants only!  No telephone registration accepted.

 

Session 3: “Last Chance Class”

Date: Saturday, April 14 to Saturday, May 5.

Classes held on Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays

Time: Mondays & Wednesdays 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cost: $100 (due the first day of class) includes manual, pocket mask and other fees

Registration Begins: Saturday, March 31 at 12 Noon

Registration Requirements: You must register in person at the Brentwood Complex.  Names are taken for the first 25 participants only!  No telephone registration accepted.

CPR Challenge

Open to those previously certified in CPR who are seeking renewal.

Date: Monday, May 14 

Time: 5 p.m.

Cost: $25

Registration Begins: Saturday, April 28 at 12 Noon

Registration Requirements: You must register in person at the Brentwood Complex.  No telephone registration accepted. 

  

 

Lifeguard Challenge

Open to those previously certified lifeguards who are seeking renewal.

Date: Wednesday, May 16     

Time: 5 p.m.

Cost: $25

Registration Begins: Saturday, April 28 at 12 Noon
