Seniors Travel to Cannonsburgh Village

Williamson County Parks and Recreation invites seniors (ages 55 & older) to enjoy a day trip to Cannonsburgh Village in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on Friday, September 26th.
Located in downtown Murfreesboro, Cannonsburgh Village is a collection of historic buildings that pay tribute to Milos Cannon, one of the city’s prominent early settlers. Moved to the site from various locations across the Mid-South, the Cannonsburgh Village buildings serve as a living history museum of early Southern life. Within the village is a grist mill, doctor’s office, wedding chapel, Leeman House, a general store and blacksmith’s shop.
After the Cannonsburgh tour, participants will enjoy a Dutch treat lunch at Demo’s Steak and Spaghetti House in Murfreesboro.
Check-in time at the Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill will be 8:00am on September 26th. Guests will travel via motor coach to Cannonsburgh Village. The bus will return to Longview by 3:00pm.
Registration for this trip opens at 9:00am on August 22nd and closes September 19th or when the trip is full. The cost is $27 per person. Lunch is Dutch treat. Registration for the trip may be made in person or by speaking with the receptionist at (615)302-0971, ext. 10. No messages allowed. To hold a reservation, payment must be received within 5 days of the initial registration. Payments may be mailed or made in person at the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill. Refunds are available through the last day of registration.
