Cupid Brings Some Crafty Fun to Franklin

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s Franklin Complex hosts a variety of creative Valentines classes for kids!
 
First, “Valentine Ceramics” with Arts & Crafts staffer, Cindy Moore gives homeschoolers and kids ages 3-10 the opportunity to design and paint a special ceramic gift for a loved one on Thursday, February 7th. Class times are 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. (Homeschool) or 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Cost for each class is $5.00 per participant.
Then, instructor Lisa Haynes presents the Noah’s Ark Workshop featuring “Bear Hugs Valentines” on Sunday, February 10th from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Kids ages 3-12 choose a Hugs Bear, stuff it by hand, dress it and name it. These “Stuff-N-Fluff” creations will even get a personalized birth certificate!  Cost is $15.00 with a $5-$15.00 supply fee, depending on materials used. Last is the “Mom & Me Valentines Day Cookies” class on Tuesday, February 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Kids ages 3-6 bring their moms or care-givers for a delicious hour of cookie decorating, baking and eating! Why not leave the clean-up to us? Cost is $3.00 per participant team. 
 
In addition, don’t forget the seasonal coloring contests for kids ages 3-10! The Valentine’s contest is going on now, with coloring pages available at the Franklin, Fairview and Hillsboro-Leiper’s Fork Recreation facilities. Prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winning entries in each of the four categories: ages 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10. Pick up your coloring picture today and enter your best work by Monday, February 18th!
