Senior Trip to Chaffin’s Barn
Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s Senior Division initiates the fall season with the Chaffin’s Barn Theatre’s hilarious, musical performance of “Lend Me A Tenor” on Thursday, Sept. 6. Folks ages 55 and older can enjoy a depiction of a 1934 night at the Cleveland Opera Company with its troubled performance of Shakespeare’s “Othello” and a cast of colorful characters woven into a charade of comedic action and adventure. Join in as “Tito Morelli” the Italian, high-maintenance tenor and his hot-headed, jealous wife stir up a whirlwind of events and surprises sure to entertain. You won’t want to miss this one!
Participants will need to bring a sack lunch, and during the performance, coffee and soft drinks will be served. Cost is $25.00 per person with your beverage server’s gratuity as Dutch treat. Check-in time the day of the trip begins at 10:15 a.m. with an estimated return time of 3:00 p.m. All transportation is provided by motor coach and will leave from the Franklin Recreation Complex located at 1120 Hillsboro Rd., Franklin. To register, call 790-5719, ext. 10 beginning at 9 a.m. on or after the first registration date. You must speak with a receptionist in order to make a reservation. Williamson County residents may register between Aug. 17 and Sept. 4. Non-residents are welcome to register between August 22nd and September 4th.
Reservations must be paid within 5 days of registration in order to be held. Payment may be received by mail, over the phone or in person (credit card purchases must be over $20.00 and will include a small processing fee) and are non-refundable after the final registration date; unless, the seat is filled from the waiting list. Participants may register up to 4 additional people for each trip.
