Roots Prime Italian Chophouse Coming to Franklin This Summer
A new chef-driven restaurant is preparing to open in Cool Springs, bringing a blend of Italian cuisine and steakhouse classics to Franklin. Roots Prime Italian Chophouse, located at 440 Cool Springs Boulevard, is expected to open in early summer 2026.
The concept comes from Chef Jose Serrato, a name already familiar in Williamson County. He is the owner of Serrato’s Steakhouse, which operates locations in both Franklin and Brentwood. Known for its classic steakhouse menu, hand-cut steaks, and seafood, Serrato’s has built a steady following with its focus on quality and service.
With Roots Prime, Serrato is expanding his culinary approach. The new restaurant is designed to blend traditional Italian cooking with the structure of a modern chophouse. The menu is expected to feature prime cuts of meat alongside house-made pastas and Italian-inspired dishes, all prepared with an emphasis on scratch-made ingredients and thoughtful presentation.
The concept reflects Serrato’s background and experience, offering something distinct from his existing restaurants while maintaining a similar attention to detail. While Serrato’s Steakhouse leans into a more traditional steakhouse setting, Roots Prime appears to introduce a more contemporary, Italian-influenced dining experience.
Located in the Cool Springs area, the restaurant will join a growing list of dining options in one of Franklin’s busiest commercial corridors. Additional details, including menu offerings and opening events, are expected closer to launch. More information can be found at rootsprimeitalianchophouse.com.
