Williamson County Animal Control and Adoption Center
Williamson County Animal Control and Adoption Center is collecting non-perishable food to benefit the College Grove and Helping Hands food pantries. Due to increased demand, both of these organizations are in need of donations. The public is invited to drop off items at the shelter office, 106 Claude Yates Dr., next to Franklin High School. Suggested items are canned goods, boxed dinners, peanut butter, jelly, pastas, tuna and canned meats. Food collection will continue through December 21.
Food donors who are interested in pet adoption will receive $5 off the regular adoption fee for cats and $10 off dog adoption fees. The shelter currently has over 100 cats available for adoption and 35 dogs, all in need of new forever homes. Through the new Meet your Match program, the shelter can now provide dog personality profiles to match with new owners.
The adoption center will be open special hours on Friday, November 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday, November 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (adoptions only-no intake these two days). The center is closed Thanksgiving Day.
