WILLIAMSON COUNTY ANIMAL CENTER TO OFFER RELIEF FOR PETS DISPLACED BY HURRICANE FLORENCE
Williamson County Animal Center (WCAC) has received a request from the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) to relocate adoptable dogs and cats displaced by Hurricane Florence.
Williamson County Animal Center Director Ondrea Johnson, Kennel Manager Kris Bush, two WCAC volunteers and Bedford County animal shelter officials will depart for to Greenville, South Carolina at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19 in multiple transport vehicles.
Johnson said, “We will definitely bring back at least 30 dogs, plus up to 20 cats from Greenville County Animal Care.” She added that several Middle Tennessee shelters have agreed to take in the pets, and they will find new homes through Williamson County Animal Center, Metro Animal Care and Control (MACC) of Nashville, Rutherford County PAWS, or Bedford County Animal Control. During the trip, Johnson will post updates on the Williamson County Animal Center Facebook page. The caravan is expected to return to Williamson County late Wednesday night.

Adoptable animals can be viewed at www.adoptwcac.org or at the center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, and Sundays from noon to 4:00 p.m.
