WGU celebrates Nashville medical staff working while clocks “fall back”

The end of daylight-saving time means one extra hour of sleep for us. For night shift healthcare workers? One more hour of life-saving work.

To say thank you to the dedicated healthcare professionals in Nashville working through the Nov. 2 time change, staff members from Western Governors University (WGU) gathered at WGU’s Franklin office and assembled 100 appreciation packages that will serve 1000 workers early this Sunday morning.

These appreciation kits were packed and then delivered to VUMC, Nashville VA Medical Center, Encompass Health, Williamson Medical Center, and Rolling Hills Hospital, to be opened during the night shift in the early morning hours of Sunday, Nov. 2.

These appreciation kits are part of WGU’s ongoing effort to celebrate the healthcare community — including the thousands of nurses and healthcare leaders who have advanced their careers through WGU’s flexible, online degree programs.
