Walk Across Williamson
The Williamson County Health Council is marking the end of its first cycle of Walk Across Williamson, a free walking program for Williamson County residents.
On Saturday April 5 at 9:00 am, the community is invited to join the free fun at Pinkerton Park (please note location change from Jim Warren Park) at 405 Murfreesboro Road/Hwy 96 in Franklin for the Walk Across Williamson Celebration Walk.
Commissioner Susan Cooper with the Tennessee Department of Health will be hosting the event and Peter Jenkins, author of “A Walk Across America” will also speak. Drawings for prizes will be awarded to participants who have turned in their walking logs during the course of the program (October-April). Prizes include: Autographed books from Peter Jenkins, an IPod Shuffle from Lifesigns, and much more! Giveaways for those that attend will be available as supplies last. The speakers are scheduled to begin at 9:00 am, and the one mile group walk will begin immediately after. All ages and levels of fitness are invited to attend! Dogs must be leashed.
