Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics

Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics

The Better Business Bureau of Williamson County announces the “Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics” to be held February 6 at 7p.m., at Liberty Hall, in The Factory at Franklin. Jim Furbush, the Williamson County Branch Manager, explains “the Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics is a national BBB program that honors businesses within a service area for their exemplary ethical business practices.”

While nationally the BBB has been celebrating the Torch Awards for many years, this is the first year that Williamson County is hosting their own awards since the branch’s opening in 2005. Furbush is especially excited about this year’s awards because “not only is it the first time but also long overdue.” “Williamson County businesses have earned a reputation for quality and doing things the right way and its time the best of the best were recognized.”

Furbish adds this is the “good news about business” and the award process and ceremony recognize and celebrate the “businesses that exemplify the way we all want to do business in Williamson County.” There were over 100 nominations and the judges have narrowed it down to the following semi finalists: Aspen Grove Dental Associates, Athena Health Club and Day Spa, Bradshaw Collision Centers, Campbell Insurance, Com Data Corporation, The Cowboy Store, Fairview Transmission, Hearing Services of Tennessee, Interactive Solutions, Magazines.com, Pillar to Post Home Inspections, Pinnacle Financial Partners, ProServ Residential Services, Puffy Muffin, Tom A Promotions, and Willowbrook Home Healthcare. From the sixteen semifinalists, four winners will receive Torch Awards based on their size category and winners will qualify to compete nationally.

The event is open to the public and boasts a notable guest speaker, John Stossel author and co-anchor of 20-20. Stossel will talk on “business ethics and integrity” which appropriately fits the evening’s celebration. While the BBB is honored to have such a well known speaker, the focus remains on the outstanding businesses being “recognized for their commitment to excellence!” Tickets for the dinner and program are $75 per person and tables are available for ten.
