Therapy Bike

High Hopes Inclusive Preschool and Pediatric Therapy Clinic has received a therapy bike from Freedom Concepts, Inc. (FCI) that will be used for patients in High Hopes’ pediatric therapy clinic to strengthen and improve the lives of children with special needs.

Megan Taylor, a Physical Therapy student completing clinical training at the High Hopes therapy clinic, along with her Clinical Instructor, Kelly Cox, MSPT, developed a photo essay and submitted it as an entry to the Freedom Concepts’ “20 Years, 20 Bikes” contest.  The essay depicted what freedom means to the children of High Hopes through pictures and quotes from students, parents, and therapy clients. “Riding a bicycle is a milestone and an everyday experience for most children; the Freedom adapted bike provides children with special needs the opportunity to enjoy and benefit from bicycling and make treasured memories of their own,” said Kelly Cox, MSPT.

Freedom Concepts custom-builds mobility devices for individuals with disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Muscular Dystrophy, Angelman Syndrome, Rett Syndrome, and visually impaired. FCI custom designed tricycles, walkers and chairs provide mobility and therapeutic benefits for thousands of special needs individuals throughout Canada and the U.S.

High Hopes equips children and youth with the skills necessary to achieve success through education, rehabilitation, and loving support.
