Swim Lessons in April at the Longview Recreation Center

Summer is almost here and Williamson County Parks and Recreation is pleased to offer group swim lessons for ages 3 and up at the new Longview Recreation at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Drive. Excel Swim School conducts all group classes. The cost for the April sessions of eight Monday, Wednesday, and Friday classes is $80. Tuesday and Thursday classes consisting of six sessions are also available at a cost of $60.  

 

Beginner I: Students entering this group have little or no experience in the water and will be taught basic water adaptation skills such as putting face in the water, breath holding and assisted floating.

 

Beginner II: This class is designed for students who have some experience in the water and are capable of placing their face in the water. The goal is to master the prone float and back float unassisted.

 

Advanced I: For more advanced swimmers who have mastered floating and underwater swimming. Students will be taught the basic techniques of freestyle and backstroke, including roll breathing.

 

Advanced II: Swimmers in this group will refine the techniques of freestyle, backstroke, and move into the basics of butterfly and breaststroke.

 

Excel Experts: This class is designed to help more advanced swimmers improve technique in all four competitive strokes. Class limited to 8 swimmers per lane. Class meets two days a week each month for 45 minutes. Note: April fee for Excel Experts is $45.
