Summer Camps for Kids in Franklin, Tennessee This Season
With the upcoming summer of 2021, many families may be wondering how COVID-19 will affect children’s summer camps. While some camps may not function the same way this season, Williamson County Parks & Recreation will continue to host a variety of summer camp options for your kiddos that follow state guidelines!
If you and your family are looking to find fun, adventurous activities for your children this summer, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve compiled a list of some of the top camp options that still have an open registration. From art adventures to superhero training and basketball camp, your children are bound to have a blast this season.

Do you children love the deep blue sea and all things related to art? Register your kiddos for Ms. Nancy’s Under the Sea Art Adventure camp! This summer, your kids can spend a week creating under the sea art, treasure maps, painting underwater creatures and will have the chance to make an under the sea plaster mask.
When you register for both classes, Ms. Nancy’s Art Camp offers a $25 discount. Camp classes are offered July 6th – July 9th from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM, as well as July 6th – July 9th from 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM. For more information you can email Amber Morris at Amber.Morris@williamsoncounty-tn.gov.
Do you have kids from ages 7-13? If so, this Acrylic Painting for Kids camp might be your kiddos next summer stop! With a one time cost of $125, instructors Joan Wilkes or Jann Stephens will teach your children basic brushstrokes, design, and artistic techniques. Built to help students enjoy an art-centered process that will make them feel good about their finished product. All supplies for this camp will be provided, so no need to worry about bringing in extra art supplies.
Acrylic Painting for Kids will take place June 1 – June 4 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, June 1 – June 4 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, July 12 – July 15 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, and July 12 – July 15 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM.
If visual art isn’t something your kids love, then Theatre 102 Camp might be a good choice for their summer adventures! A follow up camp from Theatre 101, this 5-week session offers a different combination of acting, improv, choreography and theatre crafts. You kiddos will be able to develop and perfect their acting skills and confidence as they perform scenes and monologues. While this is not a 101 class, students need not have any prior experience in theatre to join in on the fun and learning.
The camp classes will take place Mondays, April 19 – May 17, 5:00-6:30pm, for ages K-5th graders. The cost is one rate of $130, as well as a $25 supply fee. Do you have some younger kids who are absolutely superhero obsessed? If so, this SuperHero Training Academy might be a good summer stop for your children! With a one time flat fee of $125, as well as a $25 supply fee, your young campers will be able to become immersed in the universe of their favorite Marvel and DC super heroes.
This summer, let your kids take part in exciting new missions while they enjoy making new friends, memories and obtain their own personalized superhero certificate. During SuperHero Training Academy, a different super hero will work with your kids to provide superhero training on good manners, teamwork, confidence, and self-expression through fun crafts, games, and activities. This course takes place in Franklin, Tennessee from June 21 – June 25 from 9:00AM – 12:00PM and June 21 – June 25 from 12:30PM – 3:30PM. If your children are less into arts and crafts and more into getting physical with some summer sports, don’t worry! Williamson County Park & Recreation offers sports camps for students of all ages. For kids aged 7-10, Basketball Camp will take place on June 14-18 from 9-12pm at Longview Recreation Center or July 19-23 from 9-12pm. For ages 11-14, June 14-18 from 2-5pm at Longview Recreation Center as well as July 19-23 from 2-5pm.
Led by Steve Shipley, who has over thirty years of Varsity Head Coaching experience with both boys and girls teams, Basketball camp is designed to be a fun way to introduce the sport of Basketball to new players. Register your kiddos now!
Offered on June 21-25 from 1-4pm at Crockett Arena or July 19-23 from 1-4pm, Flag Football Camp can be a fun, outdoor adventure for your children this summer. Hosted by Ron Carter, a former Baylor University football star, this Flag Football Camp will cover basic athletic and flag football skills.
Your campers will be able to receive instruction in throwing technique, catching drills, route running, as well as running form and muscle development. After your kids have learned all they need to know about flag football, you can join them after camp for a fun scrimmage game!
Are your kids less into hands-on sports, and more into tennis rackets? If so, this Williamson County Tennis Camp is the place your children will want to be this summer. This camp will be hosted on June 14-17 from 9-12pm at Franklin Recreation Complex, June 28-July 1 from 9-12pm at Crockett Park Tennis Courts, and July 19-22 from 9-12pm at Franklin Recreation Complex.
Led by Jonathan Hains, an USPTA Elite Professional, your campers will be able to develop a wide variety of tennis skills and get to enjoy their summer outdoors with new friends and talented coaches.
