Studio Tenn Managing Director Todd Morgan To Depart After Eight Landmark Years

Tony McAlister and Jayson Campbell Named Interim Leaders Ahead of 2025-26 Season

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (September 17, 2025) – Studio Tenn’s Managing Director Todd Morgan is stepping down after eight years with the nonprofit professional theatre company. Under Morgan’s leadership, Studio Tenn experienced remarkable growth, including the grand opening of Turner Theater, the group’s permanent home inside The Factory at Franklin.

“Serving Studio Tenn has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my professional life, and it is not easy to step away,” said Morgan. “I believe this is the right moment for me personally, and the right moment for the company to build on its current momentum.”

During his tenure as Managing Director, Morgan guided Studio Tenn through some of its most pivotal seasons, including navigating the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and leading record-setting fundraising efforts that made the company’s permanent theater home a reality. Board members praise Morgan for his steady leadership.

“Through Todd’s guidance, the company has grown not only in artistic excellence, but in spirit and heart,” said Maria Sheffield, Studio Tenn Board Member. “Todd brought bold ideas to life, elevated voices, nurtured talent and created spaces where art could truly thrive.”

As part of the transition, Jayson Campbell, Studio Tenn’s Production Manager, will serve as Interim Managing Director, while Tony McAlister, Chairman of the Board, will take on the role of Interim Executive Director.

“Todd’s passion for theatre has touched every corner of Studio Tenn,” said McAlister. “Through his leadership, he has helped the company fulfill its mission of bringing professional theatre to the Franklin community and introducing new audiences to the magic of live performance. We look forward to building on the strong foundation he has created.”

Studio Tenn continues its mission of bringing professional theatre to the local community with its 2025–26 season, which opens with “Dracula” on October 9 at Turner Theater inside The Factory at Franklin. Tickets are available at studiotenn.com.
