Spring Hill Country Ham Festival

Spring Hill Country Ham Festival

The John Maher Builders Spring Hill Country Ham Festival returns to the Tennessee Children’s Home for two days of fun. The Oct. 1st and 2nd event, which draws thousands of visitors from all over Middle Tennessee and beyond, promises to be bigger and better than ever with all of the same family fun activities that attendees expect, along with the addition of numerous new and expanded attractions.

The annual event, which averages 12,000 to 15,000 people each year, is a free family festival with traditional festival food, arts and crafts, and activities. The event benefits several Spring Hill nonprofit organizations including the Tennessee Children’s Home, The Well Outreach, and the Imagination Library.

This year’s expanded two-day event will offer festival attendees some new offerings including the Pig Pen, a sports center where attendees can take a break from the festivities to catch the score of their favorite teams, a game tent where kids of all ages can play free videos games, an expanded Kids Zone, a farmer’s market, more concert acts, and a larger fireworks show following the Bryan White concert.

Traditional favorites will return including a hog-calling contest, with a cash prizes awarded during Saturday’s contest, arts and crafts vendors featuring handmade originals, including handcrafted jewelry, candles, woodwork, and homemade jams and jellies. Food vendors will include plenty of country ham and biscuits, roasted corn and funnel cakes.

And it’s not too late for businesses to get involved. Several sponsorship opportunities still exist, which includes plenty of advanced publicity and day-of-event recognition. Organizations interested in participating in the Kids Zone may do so by simply offering a free game or activity for children. Logo items may be given away and/or used as prizes.
