Spring Hill community comes together to support law enforcement officers
In light of last week’s shootings of five Dallas police officers, the Spring Hill community has come together to show support for members of the Spring Hill Police Department (SHPD).
Many businesses and individuals have posted on the Facebook page called “I Heart Spring Hill,” offering free meals, appreciation care packages, discounted rates at their businesses and other organizations.
Arthur Watkins, Jr., the owner of Mattress Inn in Spring Hill, is offering a free pillow, custom made at the store’s pillow kiosk.
Today, Watkins will be offering the pillows at his mattress store in The Crossings. All officers have to do for the pillow is come in, wearing their uniform.
“I’m doing this because you take for granted what an officer does to protect the community,” Watkins said. “With all this media and the fiasco that’s going on right now, and the pressures and difficulties that officers have to do their jobs, we hope to make their job a little more possible to do.”
Patti Culmer put together a fundraiser for the officers to make appreciation kits for the officers.
