Seniors Visit Two Famous Cafes

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s Senior’s Division kicks off the new year with a balance of great music and great food! First, on Thursday, January 10th travelers ages 55 and older will head toward Nashville to visit the historic “Bluebird Café” for a tailor-made program of musical entertainment, hot coffee and refreshments in the heart of Green Hills. The Bluebird Café is credited with the discovery of stars such as Kathy Mattea and Garth Brooks and serves as the song-writer’s staple for performing venues in Nashville; as well as, throughout the world. The artists who donate their time for this special event are sure to be world-class!          
 
After the show, the group will journey to yet another famous Nashville restaurant, The Loveless Café, for a delicious family-style lunch with their award-winning selection of southern eats. This historic café, nationally acclaimed and frequented by celebrities, has been featured in Gourmet Magazine, Bon Appetit, U.S. News and World Report as well as on CBS Television for its prized biscuits, lip-smacking cuisine and heart warming history. Don’t miss this doubly-blessed “foodie” trip with a side of musical cheer!
 
Cost is $24.00 per person and is all inclusive. Check-in time the day of the trip begins at 8:45 a.m. All transportation is provided and will leave from the Franklin Recreation Complex (1120 Hillsboro Rd., Franklin) at 9:00 a.m., with an estimated return time of 1:30 p.m. To register, call 790-5719, ext. 10. Williamson County residents may register between December 19th and January 8th. Non-residents are welcome to register between December 27th and January 8th.
 
Reservations must be paid within 5 days of registration in order to be held. Payment may be received by mail, over the phone or in person (credit card purchases must be over $20.00 and will include a small processing fee) and are non-refundable after the final registration date; unless, the seat is filled from the waiting list. Participants may register up to 4 additional people for each trip.
