Seniors Visit Belle Meade for the Holidays

SENIORS CELEBRATE A VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS
AT BELLE MEADE PLANTATON

Seniors, don’t miss this truly spectacular trip to one of Nashville’s premier tour sites as Williamson County Parks and Recreation visits Belle Meade on Thursday, December 11th. Known as one of the grandest of the Tennessee plantations, Belle Meade is at its best during the winter season; especially during its Victorian Christmas celebration. Holiday decorations adorn the mansion inside and out. Visit this always stunning Victorian style architecture during the climax of its seasonal display!

Discover Belle Meade’s rich history as a once world renowned Thoroughbred horse breeding farm that has generated some of today’s famous horseracing bloodlines. Today Belle Meade is a 30 acre historic site and museum. The jewel of the plantation is the 1853 Greek Revival Mansion exquisitely decorated in the Victorian Style of the late 1880s. Many of the original pieces remain a part of the décor. Learn how the Harding and Jackson families lived and entertained during this bye-gone era. Several other historic outbuildings occupy the grounds including the 1890’s Carriage house and stables; the original 1790s log cabin; a dairy; slave cabin; smokehouse and more. The Belle Meade Plantation is located at 5025 Harding Rd. in Nashville. After the Victorian Christmas tour, participants will enjoy a specially prepared Southern Brunch.
