Seniors Invited to Help Make Quilts for Soldiers

The Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill invites seniors (ages 55 & older) to our Sit and Sew event with the Cumberland Valley Quilters Association (CVQA). In the spirit of giving, the CVQA will guide you in making patriot quilts for our soldiers! During these two memorable afternoons, participants will sew two quilts for the group to donate. All supplies will be provided, and no quilting experience is necessary. CVQA volunteers will be on hand to help participants with this worthy project.

The Cumberland Valley Quilters Association is a quilting based guild located in Franklin, TN, whose purpose is to sponsor and support quilting activities, encourage quilt making for charitable donations, share knowledge of quilting techniques, textiles, history, and quilt makers, and to promote fellowship.

The Sit and Sew event will be held at the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill Wednesday, November 5th and Thursday, November 6th from 12:00 noon-4:00 p.m. Registration opens at 9:00am on October 13th and closes November 3rd or when the class is full. There is no cost for Sit and Sew. Space is limited. Registration for the event may be made in person or by speaking with the receptionist at (615)302-0971, ext. 10. No messages please.
