Reading and Legos®
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce new classes for children in October at the Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill. All classes require pre-registration and space may be limited. LITERACY LAUNCHPAD
Literacy Launchpad is an engaging, monthly reading experience for children ages 3 to 5. Literacy Launchpad’s goal is to motivate and empower children to soar into a lifetime of reading. Through stories, games, and activities children develop a love for reading and discovery. Theme for the October class is spiders. Join the creepy crawly reading fun! October’s class will be Saturday, October 11th, from 10:30am – 11:30am at the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill. There will be a $15 fee for the class plus a $5 supply fee. JR. LEGO® VEHICLES
Kids ages 5 to 7 who love Legos® will enjoy this class using advance Lego parts and pieces. Participants will build 14 vehicles during the class: car, golf cart, Model A Ford, semi-truck and trailer, rubber band trigger car, snow plow, motorized shopping cart, stand up scooter, 3-wheeler, tow truck, truck car, wagon, wheelbarrow, and Zamboni. Jr. Legos will meet on Tuesdays, October 14th – November 25th, from 4pm-6pm. The 7-week course is $125. Registration deadline is September 30th. LEGO® VEHICLES
Kids ages 8 and older can get creative in this advanced Lego® class. Participants will build 13 vehicles during the class: adjustable crane, bobcat, flipper car, forklift, inch-worm car, motorcycle, motorized wheelchair, rally car, riding mower, scissor car, space cruiser, steamroller, submarine. The Lego class will meet on Tuesdays, October 14th – November 25th, from 6:30pm-8:30pm. The 7-week course is $125. Registration deadline is September 30th.
