PULL TIGHT PLAYERS THEATRE ANNOUNCES START TO ITS 55th SEASON!
Guys and Dolls to open August 4
Franklin, TN. — Pull-Tight Players Theatre announced that Guys and Dolls will open August 4 with additional performances on the 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18 and 19th. This show is the grand opening for Pull-Tight’s 55th season.
The musical fable of Broadway, based on the book written by Joe Swerling and Abe Burrows, is built around Damon Runyon characters with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser. Set in the 1950s New York City, this timeless classic is one of the most beloved musicals of all time.
This hilarious and endearing show is centered on a Salvation Army “doll” and a professional gambler ‘guy’ falling for each other. Simultaneously, a nightclub-performing “doll” tries to convince her down-on-his-luck “guy” fiancé to tie the knot after a fourteen-year engagement.
Pull-Tight veteran, Mark Mason, directs the production.
The show’s producer, Cindy Davis Massey, said there was a huge turnout at auditions and much thought was given to who was cast. “Mark has done a remarkable job of assembling a cast that includes Pull-Tight veterans, along with performers who will be making their Pull-Tight debut. That has really become a Pull-Tight trademark.”
Featured in leading roles are Stephanie Jones, Riley Bowers, Lauren McGill, and Elijah Bell.
With familiar songs such as “Luck Be a Lady,” “Take Back Your Mink,” and the show-stopping “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat,” Guys and Dolls will take you on a nostalgic adventure to the days of classic Broadway theatrical productions.
“The twenty-three actor cast will have the audience singing and dancing all night,” said Massey
“This show is expected to sell out quickly so if you want to join in the fun, get your tickets early,” Massey added. “This one is a must see.”
Ticket prices are $22 for adults, $20 for seniors and $18 for children and students, and can be purchased at www.pull-tight.com The production is suitable for all audiences. The theatre is located at 112 Second Avenue South in downtown Franklin. Free parking is available next door.
In announcing the new season, Immediate Past President Lynda Gibbs said, “The loyal support we have received from our patrons for more than five decades means a great deal to us. At the heart of how we approach each production is making certain that Pull-Tight Theatre is an important and valued part of what makes Franklin so special.”
After Guys and Dolls Pull-Tight’s 2023-24 season will continue with Dale Wasserman’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, premiering on September 29.
