October Swim Programs at Brentwood Indoor Sports Complex

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s Aquatics division is pleased to announce an October triathlete swim clinic and children’s swim lesson schedule at the Indoor Sports Complex, 920 Heritage Way in Brentwood.
TRIATHLETES SWIM CLINIC
A 9-session swim clinic for beginner adult triathletes will be held on Tuesdays, September 23rd and 30th and October 7th, 14th, and 21st from 7:15pm-8:30pm and on Sundays, October 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th from 1:00pm-2:30pm at the Indoor Sports Complex in Brentwood. Class descriptions:
Beginner I: This class is for those who have little or no experience in the water. Students will be taught basic water adaptation skills such as putting their face in the water, holding their breath and assisted floating.
Beginner II: This class is designed for students who have some experience in the water and are capable of placing their face in the water. The goal for swimmers in this class is to master the prone float and back float unassisted.
Advanced I: This is for the more advanced swimmer who has mastered floating and underwater swimming. Students will be taught the basic techniques of freestyle and backstroke, including roll breathing.
Advanced II: Swimmers in this group will refine the techniques of freestyle and backstroke and move into the basics of butterfly and breaststroke.
Private lessons can be arranged for adults or children at a cost of $30 per lesson. Please contact Gina at 370-3471, ext. 23 for more information.
Pre-registration and advanced payment are required for all swim sessions. Participants must submit a completed registration form, signed release form and payment in advance, either by mail or in person. Classes are filled on a first come, first served basis. Registration forms are available for download at www.excelaquatics.org (or on site). Mail completed forms and payments to: Excel Swim School, 920 Heritage Way, Brentwood, TN 37027.
