This year, Memorial Day will be on May 29th, and there will be a variety of ceremonies and events happening in Franklin and the Middle Tennessee area to honor those who have served our country. Consider stopping by one of these events to commemorate the holiday.
Williamson County Memorial Day Service
Sponsored by the Williamson County Office of Veterans Services, Williamson County’s Annual Memorial Day Ceremony will take place at the Williamson County Veterans Park from 10 am- 11 am.
Arrington Vineyards is hosting Music in the Vines Memorial Day Weekend on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday!

The Annual Memorial Day Dash will start at 7:30 am in front of the Adventure Science Center in Nashville. Hosted by the Nashville City Cemetery Association and the Metro Historical Commission, this 5k features some of the most historic places in Nashville, scenic views of the city, and prizes!
Murfreesboro’s 14th Annual Healing Field will be open to the public from May 27-29. Hosted by the Exchange Club of Rutherford County, there will be 500 American flags waving in the wind with each of them representing an individual hero. Stop by this patriotic display sometime this Memorial weekend to show your appreciation!
Mt. Juliet’s Annual Field of Honor is open to the public from May 23-29. Hosted by The Exchange Club of West Wilson County and the American Legion Post 281, there will be 300 American flags displayed, each representing a different hero. Make some time to visit this stunning display sometime this Memorial weekend!
The Dutch in Nashville is celebrating Memorial Day weekend with a BBQ Luau, featuring a kalua roast pig, char siu ribs, and other culinary delights by award-winning chefs! This themed event will take place on Saturday, May 27th from 12 pm- 7 pm, so stop by this yummy event at The Dutch this Saturday!
Stones River National Cemetery
The Stones River National Battlefield will be hosting a Memorial Day service at the Stones River National Cemetery in Murfreesboro on Sunday from 1:30 pm- 2:30 pm. You are invited to honor the men and women who have sacrificed for our country, past and present. With patriotic music and a wreath laying ceremony, this is a great way to commemorate the holiday.
Nashville Shores Lakeside Resort is Middle Tennessee’s largest waterpark and they will be having a fireworks display on Sunday in honor of Memorial Day. This waterpark’s 20+ attractions will close at 8pm in anticipation for the firework show, but the park will stay open until the show begins. Fireworks are included with admission on May 28th and the show will begin at 8:45pm, with several concession areas open until the fireworks start!
Old Hickory Veterans Memorial Park
Just half an hour outside of Nashville, the Old Hickory Veterans Memorial Park will be having their Memorial Day service at 10:30am. This memorial service will be honoring the men and women from the 37138 zip code who have served our country.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will be hosting Memorial Day commemorations at national cemeteries throughout the country this weekend, including the Nashville National Cemetery! This ceremony will take place on Memorial Day at 11am, so feel free to contact the Nashville National Cemetery for more information.
MTC Memorial Day Ceremony
The Middle Tennessee Chapter, Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) will hold a Memorial Day Ceremony at 10:30 AM on Saturday, 27 May, at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery located on McCrory Lane in Nashville, TN.
