Although tickets for Saturday night’s Mardi Gras Ball are sold out, donations may still be made to the Mardi Gras Royal Court. Funds raised by Mardi Gras support day-to-day operational services and provide new programs and outings for the boys at My Friend’s House.
The nonprofit, community-based organization, began when a group of concerned community leaders answered the question, “Where do boys go when they can’t go home.”
They opened My Friend’s House in 1982 to serve at risk boys.
“We are a group home for boys,” said Tim Tranberg, director of MFH since May 2015.
