Lotz House Announces Ghost Tours Now Through October!

GHOST TOURS OFFERED EVERY SATURDAY IN SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER
Specialty Tours “Women’s History Tour” and “Battlefield Walking Tour” Also Offered
FRANKLIN, Tenn. — The Lotz House is gearing up for Halloween by offering evening Ghost Tours of the house every Saturday night through October in the house The Travel Channel dubbed “The Second Most Terrifying Place in America.”
For the Ghost Tours, guests will have the chance to experience the Civil War spirits and other unexplained phenomenon that are said to haunt the historic home. The Lotz House has been featured on the Travel Channel’s “Haunted Live” as well as Travel Channel’s “The Most Terrifying Places in America.”
Lotz House Executive Director Thomas Cartwright said, “We started off offering Ghost Tours only in October, but the demand was so high we offer the tours throughout the year. The tour focuses on actual occurrences in the house as witnessed by our staff and visitors. We share photos we’ve taken in the house with our visitors to give them a great visual of the phenomena.”
At ground zero of the Battle of Franklin, the Lotz House witnessed untold bloodshed. The traumatic past and the unexplained phenomena seen by many of its visitors led the home to be explored by national television channels. These strange happenings include a woman crying out for a loved one, a little girl staring out the window and ordinary items that just won’t stay put.
The guided 90-minute tour will begin at 6:00 p.m. with check in at 5:45 p.m. Reservations are required.
Other specialty tours include The Women’s History Tour led by Kelly Kautzman exploring what civilian life was like for women in the 1860’s as well as the compelling experiences that molded Matilda Lotz as a young girl. These tours will start at 6:30 p.m. with check in at 6:15 p.m. Reservations are required.
The Walking Battlefield Tour is led by Historian and Civil War expert Thomas Y. Cartwright who will take visitors through the steps the soldiers took during the November 30, 1864 Battle of Franklin. Reservations are required.

The Lotz House, which has been on the National Historic Register since 1976, is located in the heart of downtown historic Franklin, Tennessee at ground zero of the Battle of Franklin, which was a pivotal battle in the Civil War on November 30, 1864.
