Yes, it is time to start thinking about Christmas and helping the less fortunate.  Graceworks’ Christmas Clearinghouse provides a way for Williamson County families in need to receive a food box; and the Manger program allows needy families to shop for gifts for a nominal fee.  Those in need can register by applying with the Christmas Clearinghouse during the month of October.

Who can apply: Any resident of Williamson County who qualifies.

When can you apply: In Franklin, every Monday and Tuesday in October, 9:30 am until 6:00 pm.  In Fairview, every Tuesday in October, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. In Thompsons Station, every Tuesday through Saturday in October, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Where do you apply: In Franklin, Graceworks’ Christmas Clearinghouse, 104 Southeast Parkway.  In Fairview, Westview United Methodist Church, 7107 Westview Drive. In Thompsons Station, Helping Hands, 4960 Harpeth Peytonsville Road.

What you will need to bring to apply:  Photo ID; Proof of address (utility bill not more than 30 days old or correct address on ID); Proof of income for everyone in the household; Proof of Custody (if you are not the parent); and Social security numbers for each member of the household.

In 2007, 706 families received assistance during Christmas.  700 food baskets were delivered, and 605 families shopped at the Manger.   Graceworks Ministries, through the generosity of many different sponsors, served a total of 2212 individuals.   If your heart moves you to help the less fortunate at this time of the year, we have several ways you can participate.  Sponsors are always welcome.  Please call 615-794-9055, ext. 14 and ask for the Christmas Coordinator.
