Google Fiber Hosted a Community Event at The Factory on January 15 to Mark the Start of Construction in Franklin
On Wednesday, Jan. 15, Google Fiber (GFiber) hosted a community event at The Factory to mark the start of construction in Franklin, Tennessee. GFiber expects to connect its first Franklin customers by the end of the year.
Franklin Mayor Ken Moore was there to celebrate this milestone, along with Nick Fischer, GFiber General Manager, The South Region, Emily Trapani, GFiber Head of Sales and John-Michael Cortez, Head of Government & Community Affairs. Having this event at the historic Franklin Factory underscores GFiber’s commitment and investment in the Franklin community.
Several local business partners – Honest Coffee Roasters, Amelia’s Flowers and Five Daughters Bakery – joined GFiber to invite residents to come sign up for project updates from GFiber while enjoying premium coffee, deluxe donuts and stunning bouquets of flowers. Attendees enjoyed a live, acoustic music performance by singer/songwriter Dakota Striplin, a local Franklin resident known for his time on The Voice Australia and America’s Got Talent.
