BOFT Legacy Dinner Recap
Guests gathered at Carnton on Friday, April 26 to celebrate the annual Legacy Dinner, which honors donors who have helped the Battle of Franklin Trust transform over the past year. The event began with a cocktail reception including the “Strawberry Moscow Mule,” a ginger beer, vodka and lime cocktail that draws inspiration from the Carter and Carnton farms during the nineteenth century. Guests mingled on the historic site surrounded by the preserved battlefield and the McGavock home. Following the cocktail reception, guests enjoyed dinner provided by Catering by Suzette, featuring locally sourced ingredients. The dinner featured fried chicken with country ham corn stuffing and filets of sirloin with hickory rub morel mushrooms. The meal ended on a sweet note with a dessert of fresh picked strawberries over lavender rosemary biscuits with lemon Chantilly cream. Battle of Franklin Trust CEO Eric A. Jacobson delivered remarks about the growth of the Trust and thanked patrons for their support in the past year. After dinner, Legacy Awards were given to Greg Wade and Tim Kearns to honor their efforts in interpreting, preserving and supporting the Trust and to thank them for believing in Franklin’s story. Each recipient received a framed print of local reclaimed battlefield and Carnton’s interior, respectively, as a token of the Trust’s gratitude for their dedication.
