The 27th annual Bluegrass Along the Harpeth Fiddlers Jamboree, presented by the Williamson County Cultural Arts Commission, hosted over 20 bands competing for cash prizes on Franklin’s Public Square last weekend.
The event was presented in honor of Sam and Kirk McGee, the first members of the Grand Ole Opry and in the tradition of the once weekly Saturday barn dances held throughout the area.
Organizer Tommy Jackson recently spoke to the Herald specifically about the reason he started the event 27 years ago.
