BBB announces Torch Award For Recognition of Marketplace Ethics

BBB announces Torch Award For Recognition of Marketplace Ethics

An open letter from the BBB:

The BBB Advisory Board is pleased to announce the inaugural Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics for Williamson County.

We are fortunate to live and work in a community that has a long held reputation of being an ethical marketplace and also prospering economically. We owe much of this to the many local businesses that consistently set a marketplace benchmark for treating customers fairly, doing the right thing competitively and demonstrating the importance of corporate conscience.

The BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics was created to give public recognition to companies that maintain a commitment to conducting their business practices in an ethical fashion. I hope you will join me in soliciting nominations for a Williamson County business deserving of this recognition. Nominated businesses will be asked to complete a “Call for Entry” presentation that will be reviewed by an independent panel of judges. Finalists in three size groups will be selected and a recipient of the 2007 Torch Award will be selected from the small, medium and large business groups.

Will you please consider printing the Nomination Form (below, PDF)? THEN; Please take a moment to think about an outstanding business that you patronize or work for that illuminates the timeless principles of doing what is right and fair and nominate them for the BBB Torch Award.

Additional details are outlined in the Call for Nomination form. Over the next few months BBB Williamson County Members will be receiving addition information on the Torch Awards event, Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007 and keynote speaker John Stossel. In the meantime please contact Jim Furbush, at our BBB office (615-250-7432) should you have any questions concerning this nomination.
