NASHVILLE, Tenn. – September 9, 2025 – Some of Nashville’s most celebrated singer-songwriters are coming together to raise their voices – and support – for dogs affected by natural disasters across the country. PEDIGREE Foundation is proud to announce its annual “Dogtober” Writers Round, set for October 1, 2025, at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville, TN (6:00 PM doors | 7:30 PM show).
This unforgettable night of music and storytelling will feature top award-winning singer-songwriters Jamie O’Neal, Jamie Floyd and Carolyn Dawn Johnson. Attendees can expect a one-of-a-kind evening as these acclaimed artists share the songs and stories that have shaped country music. Sponsored by Hillman Group and Pinnacle Financial Partners, the event will be emceed by Danielle Breezy, WKRN’s Chief Meteorologist, and Joe Breezy of Mix 92.9.
All proceeds will benefit PEDIGREE Foundation’s disaster relief efforts,helping rescue dogs nationwide – including those affected by recent catastrophic floods in Texas, New Mexico and other disaster-stricken regions.
PEDIGREE Foundation partners with shelters and rescues to provide critical support during emergencies — transporting displaced animals to safety, supplying food and medical care and working to find them loving homes. The Foundation’s mission is to end pet homelessness through programs that support fostering, behavior training, transport and disaster relief.

Through the support this event generates, PEDIGREE Foundation Disaster Relief Grants give shelters and rescues the ability to mobilize quickly with food, medical care and safe shelter for dogs impacted by disasters. Since 2008, PEDIGREE Foundation has awarded 6,300 grants and over $14 million to U.S. shelters and rescues that help dogs in need. In 2024, PEDIGREE Foundation funded 96 animal shelters and rescue organizationsacross the U.S. and Canada, helping more than 77,000 dogs for a lifetime total of nearly 900,000 dogs. Last year, the foundation awarded more than $282,000 in disaster relief grants to help impacted areas, which provided shelters and rescues with the resources needed to keep animals safe in the wake of these unexpected and tragic events.

ABOUT THE SONGWRITERS

Jamie O’Neal
Platinum-selling, four-time Grammy-nominatedcountry artist Jamie O’Neal rose to fame with her back-to-back #1 singles “There Is No Arizona”and “When I Think About Angels.” Her string of hits also includes “Somebody’s Hero,” “Shiver,” and “Trying to Find Atlantis.” Over her career, she’s earned an ACM Award, Billboard Award, multiple CMA and Grammy nominations, and appeared on major shows including The Tonight Show and Late Show with David Letterman.

Jamie Floyd
Jamie Floyd is a three-time Grammy-nominated songwriter and recording artist whose songs have been recorded by Kelly Clarkson, Kesha, Brian Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe, Ingrid Andress, Ronnie Dunn, Sturgill Simpson and more. She has also written extensively for film and television, including Dolly Parton’s A Country Christmas Story and Burt Reynolds’ final film The Last Movie Star, for which she wrote and performed the entire soundtrack.
As a theatrical composer, Floyd created the score for The King’s Wife, which premiered in 2025 after winning the Woodward/Newman Award for Best Unpublished Musical. She also penned “Klaws Out,” the theme song for the Nashville Kats Arena Football team, and her voice and songwriting were recently featured in NBC’s The Voice campaign introducing Reba McEntire. Named one of Spotify’s best all-genre independent releases, her single “Sad Girls Do” highlights her ongoing impact as a globally touring independent artist.

Carolyn Dawn Johnson
Carolyn Dawn Johnson (CDJ) is a celebrated singer-songwriter whose career in country music has spanned over two decades, marked by chart-topping hits, award-winning songwriting and unforgettable live performances. Bursting onto the scene with her 2000 debut album Room With a View, which included the Top 5 smash “Complicated,” she quickly became a fan favorite, opening for country legends like Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson and Keith Urban. Known for her emotional honesty and powerful voice, Johnson has earned 17 Canadian Country Music Awards, the ACM’s Top New Female Vocalist title, and was named Favorite New Country Artist by the American Music Awards.
In addition to her solo success, Johnson has penned hits for artists like Chris Stapleton, Patty Loveless and Chely Wright, including the groundbreaking No. 1 hit “Single White Female.” Her signature voice has appeared on tracks with Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and Loretta Lynn, and she’s also produced award-winning Canadian projects.
